Why Get Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is surgery that changes the shape of the nose. The reason for rhinoplasty may be to change the appearance of the nose, improve breathing or both. The most common cosmetic concerns are noses that are too large relative to the rest of the facial features; Noses with prominent bumps, wide nasal bridges or nostrils or wide, bulbous or downturned tips. Rhinoplasty can also address noses that are crooked due to nasal trauma or a deviated septum.

How does Rhinoplasty work?
Rhinoplasty is typically performed while the patient is under either twilight anesthesia or light general anesthesia. The entire operation generally takes only around an hour and a half. In 70 percent of his rhinoplasty surgeries, Dr. Guida creates small incisions inside the nose. This means that there are no external incisions or scarring. In the remaining 30 percent of rhinoplasty surgeries, a small incision is created on the bottom of the nose where it is easily concealed. In most cases, Dr. Guida does not use nose packing, which means an easier recovery. Usually, a nasal splint will be placed at the top of the nose and worn for 5 or 6 days.

and what is...
revision rhinoplasty?
Revision Rhinoplasty is a specialized rhinoplasty surgery for those patients who have had a previous rhinoplasty which left them with unsatisfactory results. Often, patients seeking revision rhinoplasty have a combination of cosmetic and functional concerns, and therefore require a surgeon whom is highly skilled at both types of surgery.
Cosmetically, there is often an unnatural appearance to the nose, which ranges from asymmetry to a “scooped out” bridge. Functionally, there may be nasal obstruction due to a deviated nasal septum, internal scarring, nasal valve collapse or other issues stemming from too much cartilage being removed from the nose. Dr. Guida can assess and successfully correct all of these issues.
As a Dual Board-Certified Otolaryngologist and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Dr. Guida can address revision surgery to repair and maintain the structure of the nasal anatomy while, at the same time, provide the patient with the cosmetic enhancement they desire.
why guida?
nyc's top rhinoplasty surgeon
Each patient has a unique nose and to achieve the very best rhinoplasty results requires years of experience, technical skill, and each operation must be approached and performed thoughtfully and carefully.
Rhinoplasty surgery must be “tailor made” to fit each individual face. It is not a cookie-cutter, assembly line type operation. Rhinoplasty surgery requires extreme skill, years of thoughtful experience, and a caring physician. Additionally, the surgeon must listen to the patient’s wishes and goals, often on more than one consultation, and within reason, give the patient the nose she or he desires.
These qualities are what Dr. Guida feels allows him to obtain such positive results with his rhinoplasty techniques.
